Prestat was established in 1902. Its founders invented the original recipe for its chocolate truffles in 1896. An inspiration for Roald Dahl's 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory', Prestat sponsored the Walking With The Wounded South Pole race 2014 and in 2015 is launching an organic truffle collection that helps support QEST.
As the world's leading fairly traded chocolate brand, we are working with African farmers to improve their incomes and lives by providing agriculture, weather and market information through text messaging. A leading UK artisan chocolate maker, we employ 60-80 people in our London kitchens. Prestat's manufacturing family make own-label for many of the UK's leading retailers. Our bakery makes in excess of 1.5m mince pies, as well as florentines, biscuits and a range of gluten-free bakery products. Prestat exports to the USA (Bloomingdales, Dean & DeLuca, Central Markets, Barnes & Noble); Europe; UAE (Harvey Nichols, Galeries Lafayette); Australia (David Jones); Hong Kong and China, and Japan.
